AI Summaries

MythTapestry can optionally generate summaries for your content units, giving you a quick overview of each piece of writing. This feature is entirely optional — summaries are never generated without your action or explicit auto-generation configuration.

How summaries work

When triggered, the AI reads your content unit and produces a concise summary that captures the key points: events that happened, characters involved, locations mentioned, and important details.

Generating a summary

Summaries can be generated:

• Automatically — when you save a content unit (if the feature is enabled in World Settings)
• Manually — click the Generate Summary button on a content unit’s detail page

Tip

Summaries are stored as a system field on the content unit. They’re visible in list views and used by the chatbot to understand your content.

Data privacy

What’s sent: The plain text of the content unit being summarised, plus optional context (the content unit’s title and type).

What’s NOT sent: Your user identity, world ID, session IDs, relationship data, entity metadata, or any content from other content units. Only the specific piece of text being summarised is included.

Where it goes: To the AI model provider via OpenRouter, as configured in your model preferences.

Summary uses

• Quick browsing — scan summaries in content lists to find what you’re looking for
• Chat context — the chatbot uses summaries to understand content without reading every word
• Session recaps — campaign session summaries serve as quick recaps
